Online Quicken Class and Course Overviews

Online Quicken classes and courses are offered through the continuing education department of many colleges and universities. Quicken is a financial software suite used by millions of people for keeping track of personal or small business finances. Quicken is usually taught as an individual class; however, Quicken may also be part of a personal finance or small business bookkeeping program.

Quicken classes may be offered as hybrid or fully online courses. Students learn to set up and maintain accounts using day-to-day transactions, such as splitting, entering credit card transactions, cash advances and reconciling accounts. Although typically taught as personal enrichment courses, students taking Quicken classes or courses can earn certificates of achievements or pursue accounting degrees.

Using Quicken software on a Windows operating system is the focus of this class. Students learn to set up and maintain accounts, enter loans and credit cards payments and make daily transactions. Transferring accounts from a Mac system or other financial programs is also covered in this class.

Quicken for Farm Producers Class

Aimed at students involved in a farm producing business, this class teaches students to customize accounts for their specific business. Students set up accounts for their farm businesses and learn about budgeting, tax planning, loan tracking, bill paying and more. Emphasis is on the different factors that differentiate a farm business from other businesses.

Personalized Finance Using a Computer Class

This class provides students with hands-on experience in setting up a personal account, reconciling statements, writing checks, tracking payments, generating and printing financial reports, setting up investments and more. Students learn to enter transactions and monitor their accounts.
